Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina has expressed his support for beleaguered African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Ace Magashule.

The Hawks issued a warrant of arrest for Magashule on Wednesday in connection with allegations of fraud.
The allegations relate to aR255 million Free State asbestos audit tender.
“You can arrest Magashule for all his sins, but not his ideas of Radical Economic Transformation. We fear nothing, we have been on this road at some point and we fear nothing. The abuse of State organs to further Political ends have short legs. We will meet at the festival OK,” Masina tweeted on Tuesday.
In a second tweet, Masina slammed what he called “apartheid laws”.

“Arresting leadership based on apartheid laws does not make sense. I reject this arrest and will be in court with my SG to support him against this democratic disgrace. No stepping down is applicable until those documents are unsealed in court. No to selective prosecution.”
The ANC has previously said that members implicated in corruption should step aside until their names are cleared.
The party’s top six leadership met on Tuesday evening, purportedly to discuss Magashule’s legal woes.
Magashule is set to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
