We won't allow criminals to hide in Mpumalanga - Ndlovu

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu has welcomed the arrest of a group of Libyan nationals who were part of an alleged secret military camp in White River.

The group was arrested last Friday after Masoyi residents reportedly complained about a spike in crime in the area.
Ninety-five Libyan nationals were arrested and are facing charges related to the contravention of the Immigration Act.
It's reported that the group had been stationed at the makeshift training site for nearly four months before locals raised the alarm.
Their visas have since been revoked by the Department of Home Affairs.
They are expected back in court on Monday.
While delivering his State of the Province Address in Mbombela on Wednesday, Ndlovu said the provincial government would not allow criminals to hide in Mpumalanga.
He said over a thousand crime wardens will be deployed throughout the province.
"As part of our efforts to curb crime, we will deploy at least 1,000 crime prevention wardens who will assist in safety and security in our community. These wardens will be trained and placed in crime hotspots," promised Ndlovu.
