Work at the fire-ravaged Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg is expected to be completed next week.

According to the department, the installation of fire doors is the biggest issue.
Gauteng Health MEC Nomathemba Mokgethi says the process to remove the old doors has already started.
"The only outstanding matter in the installation of 19 fire doors, the removal of the old doors started on Tuesday and is still in progress.

"The first doors will arrive in batches, once all the doors have been installed we will be invited to do the inspection.
"We expect all of the work to be concluded by next Tuesday."
Charlotte Maxeke has not been fully operational after it was gutted by a fire in April which destroyed a part of the hospital's dispensary department.
Since then, the hospital has been opened in phases with the radiation oncology services opening in the first week of June.
