'You will not twerk here' - Nehawu protests Mkhize visit in Gqeberha
Updated | By Algoa FM News
Health workers held a protest at Dora Nginza Hospital in Gqeberha ahead of the oversight visit by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Thursday.

Protesting workers are complaining about the poor state of health services at Eastern Cape public institutions.
According to the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union regional secretary Sweetness Stokwe, they also want nurses employed during the Covid19 pandemic, to be given permanent employment.
"It can't be correct that two weeks ago we were celebrating the victory that out brothers and sister who are assisting in fighting Covid, their contracts were renewed. But in the past week we have been receiving messages saying they must stay at home. We are here to say to minister Mkhize that there was a memorandum submitted by Nehawu nationally, to your office as well as all nine provinces."
Stokwe also lashed out the Provincial Health Department over the poor state of health services in the province.
"The real reason hospitals are under seige is because there is no focus on primary health. Our people are subjected to inhumane treatment, where you go to the clinic you must wait outside. That is not only unacceptable for workers, but for society at large.
As Nehawu, you (Zweli Mkhize) will not ignore us. You will not come to our region and twerk here. When you are here, they are twerking of government officials!"
