Zondwa Mandela: 'We will continue my mother's work'

Zondwa Mandela, the son of the late Zindzi Mandela, says the family will continue his mother’s legacy.

The 59-year-old ambassador passed away on Monday morning in a Johannesburg hospital.
The late Mandela was laid to rest in a private ceremony on Friday morning at the Mandela burial site at Fourways Memorial Park, north Johannesburg.
The Mandela family confirmed that she had contracted Covid-19.

The grandson of the late former statesman says his mother has always enforced in them their history and the legacy they come from.
He says his mother was a dynamic and gallant figure and that her legacy will continue.
"Many people want us to dichotomise and not acknowledge the identity that we keep. My mother was very clear, that it is very important to celebrate who we are and never question that particular identity,” he said.
"So we will continue her work and her work will continue to prosper beyond people’s expectations.”
Mandela was speaking to SABC News following the burial of his mother.
