6 uncapped players included in Proteas squad for ODI series
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter has named an initial squad of 12 players for a tri-nation one-day series against Pakistan and New Zealand.

More names will be added after tonight’s SA20 eliminator between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings.
Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Rassie van der Dussen, who will play in this month’s Champions Trophy, weren’t considered.
Six uncapped players were included for Monday’s first match against the Black Caps in Lahore.
ODI captain Temba Bavuma will lead the side, which includes uncapped players in Warriors batter Matthew Breetzke, Dragons batter Meeka-eel Prince, and his domestic teammate, fast bowler Gideon Peters, along with Dolphins fast bowler Eathan Bosch and Warriors spinner Senuran Muthusamy.
Western Province all-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana has also been named in the squad. This is the 24-year-old’s second call-up to the 50-over setup after being part of the ODI squad against India in 2023.
Fast bowler Gerald Coetzee has made a recovery from a left hamstring strain to further strengthen the attack.
