The South Africans will take on Ghana in Morocco on Monday evening.

South Africa, ranked second in Africa, is in Group C with Ghana, Mali and Tanzania.

The Ghanaians return to the women’s continental competition after an absence of seven years.

Ellis says they are in a tough group, but she is confident in her players.

“Ghana has always been one of the powerhouses of African women's football, and they've always had a very good structure, very good players.

“They've now got a new coach, so it's not going to be an easy game, and we know it's going to be a difficult game. They want to get back up there. Tanzania, we've played them before.”

Ellis says they have done a lot of analysis on the Ghanaians ahead of the game.

“I’m sure they’ve also done an analysis on us, too. If you’re not ready now, then we have a problem. We came to Morocco early to prepare, and we are now ready for the game. It’s just about using the plans tomorrow; it’s about making sure that if the one plan doesn’t work, we have another plan and another plan and another plan…. We just need to put our game plan in place and make sure that we get the result we want.”

Mali and Tanzania will also contest the other Group C match at the Berkane Stadium on Monday.
