Barbarians clash ‘ideal test’ for Springboks
Updated | By Bulletin / Jacaranda FM
Springbok assistant coach Tony Brown says Saturday’s match against the Barbarians will be an ideal test for the team, setting the tone for the season ahead.

The match, which will be played in Cape Town, marks the first encounter between the Springboks and Barbarians since 2016.
Brown says aspects of their playing style will evolve this season as they look to improve.
“ I just think that from the attacking side of the game, we just want to build on what we did last year. We want to make the players, I guess, a lot better in all attacking situations.
"Rugby moves fast. So we want to try and stay ahead of everything around what we do on attack, and try and play good winning rugby.
“That means we score tries, and hopefully, everyone loves the way we play.”
Meanwhile, 18 players with Test experience from across the world reported for duty for the Barbarians ahead of Saturday’s clash in Cape Town.
The 23-man squad, including former Junior Springbok lock Ruben van Heerden of the Stormers and coached by Robbie Deans, are preparing to take on the Boks on South African soil for the first time.
Five more capped All Blacks have joined the squad, namely Hoskins Sotutu, Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Peter Umaga-Jensen, Leicester Fainga’anuku and Mark Tele’a.
