Coetzee foot problem blocks move to Celtic
Updated | By AFP
The transfer of Ajax Cape Town and South Africa defender Rivaldo Coetzee to Scottish champions Celtic was called off Sunday after he failed a medical.

Ajax said a routine medical examination by a Celtic staffer in Johannesburg revealed a problem with the right foot of the 20-year-old international.
"The clubs were, therefore, unable to conclude a deal," said a statement from the South African Premiership club.
"Ajax Cape Town can confirm that they were not aware of any condition that would have potentially hampered a transfer to Celtic."
"We made good millions," said Ajax chairman Ari Efstathiou several days ago, referring to a deal that was reportedly worth 13 million rand (about $1 million/840,000 euros).
First capped by South Africa when only 17, Coetzee has made 23 international appearances and was part of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games squad.
