Irish referee Andrew Brace sent off Wiese after 22 minutes of the second Test against Italy for head-butting prop Danilo Fischetti.

Wiese will be back in contention for selection for the last three Rugby Championship matches in September and October.

The ban will rule him out of Saturday's closing Incoming Series match against Georgia in Nelspruit, the first three Rugby Championship Tests against Australia in Johannesburg and Cape Town, respectively, and the first game against New Zealand in Auckland.

He will be free to play the second All Blacks Test in Wellington, and the two matches against Argentina in Durban and London.

Speaking after the Test in Gqeberha, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus said Wiese would be fully supported.

"He is so committed and passionate about the team. It would have been wonderful for him to play in this game with his brother Cobus."

Lock Cobus Wiese won his first Springbok cap off the bench during the second half in the eastern coastal city.

"It is sad because Jasper is not a guy that goes out there to do those kinds of things, but I do not want to say anything that can make it better or worse," Erasmus said.

Brace also gave three yellow cards—first to South Africa prop Wilco Louw, then Fischetti and fellow forward David Obiase.
