Kaizer Chiefs release Shaun Bartlett as assistant coach

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the release of Shaun Bartlett as assistant coach.

The news of Bartlett’s departure from Naturena comes just a day after the sacking of Ernst Middendorp as head coach.
“We would like to once again thank both gentlemen for their service to Kaizer Chiefs over the last 21 months,” said Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung on Thursday.
The club has previously vowed that a new coaching team would be in place before the start of pre-season training.
The coaching clear-out at Amakhosi follows a dreadful end to the Absa Premiership season which saw the Soweto giants fail to win the league title in spite of being 13 points clear at the top at one stage.
Chiefs have now gone five years without winning a trophy.
