Maphaka, Bavuma take aim at Aussies in ODI series

The Proteas have added teenage fast bowler Kwena Maphaka to their squad for the upcoming three-match one-day series against Australia.

The 19-year-old was impressive in the T20s against the Aussies, picking up nine wickets to finish as the leading wicket-taker in the series, which the hosts won 2-1.
Meanwhile, Australia welcomes back experienced batter Marnus Labuschagne after he was dropped for the recent Test series against the West Indies.
The first ODI will be played at Cazaly’s Stadium in Cairns on Tuesday before moving to the town of Mackay, also in north Queensland, for the final two games on Friday and Sunday.
Captain Temba Bavuma will also return to the fold after tearing his hamstring during the World Test Championship final at Lord’s.
“It’s been a busy time at home becoming accustomed to all the appreciation there is among fans for our success at Lord’s, but the time away from the game has also allowed me to get the body strong again, but I’m fully fit now, looking forward to the games ahead and raring to go again,” Bavuma said on Monday.
