SAFA suspends Shakes Mashaba
Updated | By MornéJK
The South African Football Association announced at the weekend that the Bafana Bafana coach, Shakes Mashaba has been suspended.

According to a statement from SAFA, the suspension comes amid an ongoing disciplinary hearing for misconduct.
Mashaba will subsequently not travel with the national soccer team to Mozambique for the international friendly this week.
"Mashaba will not join the team on their trip to Mozambique as the Association has deemed it necessary to employ disciplinary measures after a regrettable incident at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday," the statement reads.

Speculation is rife that Mashaba disrespected SAFA boss Danny Jordaan after the victory over Senegal in Polokwane.
"Assistant Coach Owen da Gama will take charge of the team in the above-mentioned international friendly match against Mozambique on Tuesday in Maputo," SAFA says.
They also confirmed that they won't be commenting on the matter further and that it is SAFA's custom not to divulge any more information.
"As is our custom in matters such as these we will not be making any further comments on this matter out of respect for the dignity of the Head Coach and the Association and the legally privileged nature of such proceedings," the statement concludes.
