SuperSport United remain in danger of relegation

Former champions SuperSport United remain in danger of relegation from the South African Premiership after a 1-0 home loss to Orlando Pirates on Tuesday.

The Pretoria club, winners of three consecutive league titles from 2008-10, are above bottom club Cape Town City only on goal difference entering the final round this weekend.
A match of many turnovers and injury-induced stoppages was won after 72 minutes when Mohau Nkota scored his third league goal of the campaign.
Taking a pass just outside the area, the forward moved inside an opponent before firing past goalkeeper Thakasani Mbanjwa at his near post.
SuperSport came closest to levelling near the end of regular time when Nyiko Mobbie headed a cross against the post.
"That rebound off the post is the story of our season," said Andre Arendse, the SuperSport caretaker coach and 1996 Africa Cup of Nations-winning goalkeeper.
"We have had very little luck in the attacking third all season, so we are going to have to avoid relegation the hard way.
"I cannot fault the effort of my players, but there were some heavy legs out there due to playing a lot of matches recently."
SuperSport host Richards Bay on Saturday while Cape Town have what appears a tougher task at home to third-placed Stellenbosch, who must win to be certain of CAF Confederation Cup qualification.
Pirates are assured of finishing runners-up for the third straight season behind Mamelodi Sundowns and both will compete in the next CAF Champions League.
