Twitter explodes as France win shock 2023 Rugby World Cup vote
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
While the majority of South Africans on Twitter are devastated that South Africa will not host the Rugby World Cup 2023 - there are those who say they are not surprised.

Some South Africans also believe it is good news that South Africa lost the bid to host the international rugby tournament.
On Wednesday, France won the right to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
It comes just over two weeks after South Africa was announced as the preferred host by World Rugby.
The decision was put to a vote - with members of the Rugby World Council voting in favour of France.
There have been virtual tears and cheers on Twitter.

On merit South Africa had the best bid but democracy allows members to vote and they voted for France. I won't be going there for it https://t.co/wNz0AtQunf
