President Cyril Ramaphosa has phoned the South African Paralympic medalists to congratulate them on their performance in Tokyo.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has phoned the South African Paralympic medalists to congratulate them on their performance in Tokyo.
The president spoke to Ntando Mahlangu, who won Gold medal in the men’s long jump T61 with a new world record, Anrune Weyers, who won the women’s 400m, and Louzanne Coetzee who won silver in the women's T11 1500m final.
Puseletso Mabote (16) claimed the spotlight on a quiet day for Team SA at the Paralympics in Tokyo on Sunday by qualifying for the final of the men’s T63 100m by finishing third in his heat.
“I had to make time even in the busy schedule, you have just done unbelieve wonders for yourselves but for our country as well,” Ramaphosa said.
“You really lifted the image of our country exponentially. I want to congratulate you and thank you for the phenomenal performance. When we saw you in the television, we were very proud of you, immensely proud that you are representing the country extremely well. You have put us on the map, the achievements you have made there are just unbelievable.
“South Africa’s flag is flying very high. South Africa thanks you for the unbelievable performance. Thank you so much.”
