Neon dyed chicks sold as TOYS!

These chicks are NOTHING like the hamster I begged my parents for as a kid!
What on earth is happening that there is a demand for neon dyed chicks as live toys!?
Gina Jones was recently vacationing on Thai Island, Koh Lanta, when she spotted a bright pink chick jumping around on the back of a dusty truck.
The chick seemed to tweet and call attention over to plastic bags at the back of the truck which had a number of other brightly coloured chicks inside them. Gina said it was an extremely hot day on the island and the chicks seemed to be suffocating in the plastic bags as they tried to peck their way out of the bags.
Gina and her group of friends tried to free the chicks from the bags but the truck sped off before they could.
​Petitions have been set up calling on the Thai Government to end this cruel practice:
