Major General Charles Bolden served a 34-year career with the U.S. marine corps and is a former NASA Administrator, nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by US Senate as the 12th administrator for Nasa.

Bolden has overseen the landing on Mars of the Curiosity Rover, the launch of spacecraft to Jupiter, as well as leading a nationwide team to advance the missions and goals of the U.S. space programme at Nasa.

Major General Bolden proudly said South Africans are doing great things in the aerospace realm. The very first images of Mars came from South Africa!

He visited Breakfast on Thursday morning and Martin Bester couldn’t wait to ask him about conspiracy theories.

“I don’t think there is information we keep from you. If we discovered an alien, you would definitely know about it. The amount of money that would come to NASA, I mean…”
