Visitors were disappointed when they arrived at a popular shopping centre to watch the rugby, only to find the TV not working due to an "amount owing" on the account.

Social media users couldn't help but laugh after a video surfaced showing a popular mall in Gqeberha allegedly failing to pay its DStv account.

The video, posted by social media content creator Yano Onay, shows a group of people allegedly standing at the Boardwalk Mall in Gqeberha, excited to watch Saturday's rugby match between South Africa and Italy.

Onay then quickly moved his camera to a massive screen in the centre of the mall, where the rugby was supposed to be shown.

Unfortunately, visitors were met with a disappointing notification on the screen.

"And don't you think, The Boardwalk didn't pay their DStv," the content creator said.

The notification on the screen claimed that DStv wasn't available at the time, possibly due to an unpaid account.

"This channel may be blocked due to an amount owing on your account," the message read.

Onay ended the video by once again showing the number of people who had turned up to watch the match.

"That is wild, my guy, wild. Everyone is here. There's no rugby," he said, ending the video.

Of course, many social media users thought it was hilarious, sharing their thoughts in the comments section.

Whether the notification was an error or truly due to an unpaid account is still unclear at this point.
