“I had exposure to COVID-19” – Martin Bester
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Have you had an antibody test? Martin Bester explains what it entails and why he decided to do the test.

COVID-19 antibody testing, also known as serology testing, is a blood test that's done to find out if you've had a past infection with SARS-CoV-2.
The rapid antibody test helps and supports the South African Health institutions to better understand the accurate COVID-19 infection rate and spread. This is also an opportunity to find out if you had asymptomatic COVID-19 in the past.

Having antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19 may provide protection from getting infected with the virus again. But even if it does, we do not know how much protection the antibodies may provide or how long this protection may last.
