A prop malfunction at a Katy Perry concert nearly ended in tragedy…
Pop sensation Katy Perry's 'The Lifetimes Tour' is currently underway after kicking off in April 2025.
A recent concert in San Francisco, California, nearly ended in disaster after a prop malfunction.
During her concert on Friday, 18 July, the 'I Kissed A Girl' singer had to power through when a mechanical butterfly malfunctioned mid-air.
Perry was performing her hit 'Roar' while riding the mechanical butterfly above the audience.

The prop then suddenly dropped about a metre with Perry still on it.
Although she appeared startled during the incident, the pop star managed to hold on and push through.
Video footage of the incident, which went viral on social media, shows Perry recomposing herself and continuing to sing while still flying on the mechanical prop.
"Not today, Satan," Perry said as the song ended.

According to CBS News, 'The Lifetimes Tour' includes several moments where Perry is suspended in the air.
Katy Perry isn't the only global superstar to experience a dangerous prop malfunction recently.
Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour, officially titled Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour, commenced on April 28 and is set to conclude on July 26.

On Saturday, June 28, during her performance at Houston, Texas' NRG Stadium, Beyoncé had to handle a dangerous situation when one of her props malfunctioned.
The Texas Hold 'Em singer ran into trouble while sitting on a floating red convertible car.
During her performance of '16 Carriages,' the vehicle unexpectedly began to tilt while in the air.
