According to Hill-Lewis, KFW is currently in its 10th year of running.

It is one of the leading fashion events in Cape Town, bringing together aspiring designers, professional photographers, and emerging models.

The mayor also gave a nod to the event's organiser, Bongani Matenjwa, applauding his role in building the event's reputation and reach:

"Now in its 10th year, it’s only growing in size and prestige each year. Bravo to Bongani Matenjwa for arranging this showcase."

He also added a thank you to local label GcoGco Clothing for helping him look stylish on the runway.
