In his post, he added that CCTV cameras and alarms were allegedly deactivated.

The criminals made off with an unknown amount of cash after using a grinder to open the safes.

By the time the bank closed on Saturday, everything was seemingly still in order.

When staff returned on Tuesday after the public holidays, they discovered the robbery and reported it to the police.

Masondo said that part of the investigation is to understand exactly how the robbers gained access to the bank.
