Nataniël launched his solo career in 1987 with the release of his first single. Since then he has released 19 albums, staged more than 80 original theater productions, and published 19 books.

Over the past three decades, he has not only established himself as singer, songwriter, producer, director, designer, and public speaker, but also as South Africa's leading exponent of the solo stage act.

An outspoken and often controversial figure, he continuously crosses over from the alternative circuit to the main stage, generating extensive media coverage and a massive cult following. His popular 'Kaalkop' column has been appearing in SARIE magazine for the past 17 years.

The legendary singer, songwriter and storyteller joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to talk about his brand new book "Kyk Na My."

"My new book is all about my experiences and what shaped me during the years. My earlier memory is on the first page of my book."

Look at me is a magical read. It is the story of a young boy who is terrified of being like everyone else, of finding his own identity in the midst of small-town life during apartheid, South Africa. It is deeply moving, and a tribute to childhood, and to growing up knowing you are different from everyone else.

Nataniël returns to the Artscape Theatre with his latest stage creation, 'When Giants Waltz.'  He will perform music from the catalogue of blues and jazz evergreens, pop classics and original songs.

With the Rugby World Cup currently happening - Nataniël picked Ireland as his team to support during the RWC.
