A woman's dancing video went viral for all the wrong reasons, showing a starving dog in the background.

A video that recently went viral on the social media platform X has left many South Africans shocked and heartbroken.
But thanks to swift action from the NSPCA, there is a hopeful ending to what began as a distressing situation.
In the now-viral clip, a content creator was seen dancing, but it wasn't her moves that caught everyone attention.

Thankfully, the National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) stepped in immediately.
Their Special Projects Unit (SPU) worked to locate the dog and remove her from the property, ensuring she would never be subjected to such neglect again.
"Our Special Projects Unit (SPU) jumped into action and tracked down Bobby’s owner and the influencer," they wrote.

The dog, now named Bobby, was found in a heartbreaking condition.
According to the NSPCA, she had been forced to eat plastic to survive and was covered in ticks, fleas, and open sores caused by fly strike. She was also suffering from severe malnutrition.
Since being rescued, Bobby has been affectionate with everyone she meets and is now safe in the care of the NSPCA.
According to the organisation, once she regains her strength, she will be sterilised and placed in a loving home.

"She's on a long road to recovery, but once healthy, she'll be sterilised and available to the loving and caring home she deserves."
While Bobby begins her long recovery, the woman in the video, who later claimed the dog was not her responsibility, will now face charges in terms of the Animals Protection Act, the NSPCA confirmed.
The influencer also allegedly mocked the NSPCA's investigation on social media before the rescue.
The NSPCA has urged the public to report any signs of animal cruelty or neglect.Tune in to the 'Breakfast with Martin Bester', weekdays from 06:00 – 09:00. Stream the show live here or download our mobile app here.
