Living his life one quarter mile at a time, the suspect managed to outrun police officers and steal a police van from the Umhlali South African Police Service (SAPS) in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to a Facebook post by eNCA senior reporter Dasen Thathiah, the suspect allegedly stole a marked @SAPoliceService vehicle and drove for about an hour before he was captured at the beach.

How does this even happen?
It's believed that the officers at the station were attending to an arrested suspect while the known local troublemaker started up the vehicle for a drive.
According to KZN police spokesperson Priya Nunkumar-Bukum, the man was eventually tracked down in Ballito.
