Police arrest suspect after high-speed chase and shootout

A video of a high-speed car chase and shootout shows officers apprehending a suspect.

A video, which was shared on social media, has caused quite a stir online.
The video, shared on X by CrimeInSA, shows an alleged high-speed car chase and shootout between police and criminals in Muizenberg, Cape Town.

Audible gunshots and police sirens can be heard at the start of the video before a white Volkswagen Polo is seen speeding around a traffic circle.
The white vehicle then comes to an abrupt stop, with smoke emerging from the bonnet and visible damage to the front.
Police officers quickly seized the opportunity to apprehend the suspects while the vehicle was stationary.
Two police officers, working together, are seen breaking the driver’s window and eventually kicking it out completely.

A police officer then manages to open the door and pull the suspects from the car.

According to Cape {town} Etc, the chase ensued on Monday, 7 July, after the suspect was already wanted for a robbery.
The video was allegedly taken along Sanderling Circle and Baden Powell.
