Radio legend Darren Scott dies

It was confirmed on Tuesday, 27 May, that radio veteran Darren Scott has passed away.

After battling a stage four malignant melanoma for several years, radio legend Darren Scott has sadly died.

Tributes celebrating Scott's life flooded social media on Tuesday following news of his passing earlier that morning.

Darren spent much of the past few months in the hospital during his difficult battle with cancer.

He was regarded as a legend in the radio industry, having worked at stations such as Radio Bop, 5FM, East Coast Radio, and eventually HOT 102.7FM.

Scott was also a presenter on Jacaranda FM, where he hosted the 'Just Plain Breakfast' show in the early 2000s.

According to HOT 102.7FM, Darren marked 40 years in radio last year and was inducted into the Radio Awards Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his sons, Mark and Matthew.
