SA petrol attendant goes viral after sharing salary

We are often taught not to speak about our finances and how much we earn, but in recent times, people have become much more comfortable with sharing this information.
A South African petrol attendant who goes by Bajike General on TikTok recently went viral after he shared his age and salary on the video-sharing platform.
Although many people were interested in how much petrol attendants earn, it was actually the question he posed to his followers that made the video go viral.

Bajike first revealed that he is 23-years-old and earns R9,500 per month. He then encouraged others to share their age and salary as well.
In the picture uploaded to TikTok, he can be seen standing in his petrol attendant uniform.
"Hey guys, it's very important to stick to your level, be real. If there were no forecourt attendants, who would fill up your cars?" he wrote.

His video has garnered almost one million views, with thousands of people sharing their age and salary in the comments section.
The video sparked an open and honest conversation about age, types of jobs, and how much people earn.
