Singer reveals breast cancer diagnosis

The British singer has revealed that she has been diagnosed with early breast cancer.

Pop star Jessie J has bravely opened up about a recent health scare, sharing that she has been diagnosed with early breast cancer.
She shared her breast cancer diagnosis with fans on Instagram in a deeply personal message.
The 37-year-old singer, known for hits like 'Price Tag' and 'Domino,' said she plans to undergo surgery after performing at Capital's Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium later this month.
Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, admitted she’s been "in and out of tests" recently and decided it was time to share the news with the public.
"Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word 'early,'" she said in a video message. Trying to keep the mood light, she added: "It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job."

The Essex-born star, who also became a mom last year, said she'll be stepping away for a short time after the Summertime Ball to focus on her recovery.
"I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music," she joked with trademark honesty.
Jessie explained that going public with her diagnosis is her way of coping and standing in solidarity with others facing similar battles.
"I just wanted to be open and share it," she said. "One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard."
According to BBC News, Jessie also reflected on the support she's received from fans in the past and how important it is for her to remain transparent.
"I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me, with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I’m an open book," she shared.
"It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse—that's the bit that kills me."

She added that the diagnosis had given her "incredible perspective," but that she's still working through her emotions.
"But honestly, I need to process it and talk about it, and I need a hug," she said to fans.
"You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don't want this to be any different."
