Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Everyone should teach their children this song!

In a country riddled with crime, gender-based violence, and sexual abuse, it is important to teach our children right from wrong and how to potentially protect themselves.
A South African teacher has taken social media by storm by doing exactly that.
Taking to TikTok, local teacher Gelda Waterboer posted a video of herself teaching her class a song about consent and keeping their "private parts" safe.
"Being safe make sure they put in the emotion," she wrote on the viral video.

The video, which has garnered more than 44 million views, shows Waterboer teaching her children the words:
"These are my private parts, private parts, private parts, no one should touch them, no one should squeeze them."
The song continues:
"And if you touch my private parts, I will tell my mother, I will tell my father, I will tell my teacher."

But it wasn't only the song about consent and safety that captured the attention of online users — it was the teacher's immense passion.
She doesn't just sing the song; she puts real emotion into the words, showing sternness and anger to make her children understand the importance of the message.

The comment section was filled with praise for the teacher:
"Someone give her 'Teacher of the Year' award," wrote one user.
"'Why is she yelling?' 'Why is she angry?' 'Why is she aggressive?' Because it's a serious issue. And the babies need to understand that it’s not just a fun song. Well done, Ms!" said another.
"Yes. Louder! Teaching kids to not be shy about this is so important," said another.
