Checkers Sixty60 drivers have become heroes in South Africa.

Not only have their services made grocery shopping the most convenient it's ever been, but their signature look has also become a household brand, with even kids' parties being themed around Sixty60.

Many South Africans have put their trust in the service and its riders to deliver groceries conveniently, but also safely, as they often have some sort of access to our homes when dropping off groceries.

Unfortunately, thieves have now started using this household brand and its signature look against residents.

A video shared on Instagram by confessions.za shows how a man dressed in Checkers Sixty60-branded clothing snatched a phone in front of an estate gate.

"Thieves dressed up as innocent Checkers Sixty60 drivers are going around Centurion snatching phones," they wrote on Instagram.

Watch the video here:

The video first shows what seems to be a normal Checkers Sixty60 driver standing next to a grey Volkswagen.

Things start looking suspicious when the man signals the driver of the vehicle - most likely warning them to be ready to get away.

He then walks up to the estate gate and, in a flash, runs towards the car while someone inside opens the door for him to rush in.

The getaway car then speeds off with the door still wide open.

A different angle from the CCTV footage shows exactly what happened:

While a man was standing by the estate entrance talking on his phone, the thief ran up to him, snatched the phone out of his hand, and jumped into the getaway car.
