Traumatic hijacking in Pretoria parking lot caught on camera

CCTV footage of a hijacking in a fast food restaurant's parking lot in Pretoria has been cau.

A shocking hijacking took place outside a KFC in Laudium on Thursday, May 29.
The victim, who is allegedly a resident of Primrose Street, was confronted by unidentified suspects while sitting in the parking lot at the fast food restaurant.

He was then held at gunpoint and forced into the back of his vehicle.

According to the Laudium Today, the victim was then driven around for several hours before being abandoned in Brits.
Following the incident, the Laudium Community Policing Forum (CPF), Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens, and SAPS coordinated a large-scale search across areas including Atteridgeville and Lotus Gardens.
Despite their efforts, neither the victim nor the vehicle was initially located in those areas.
The victim later reached the police station in Brits and was safely reunited with his family in Laudium. However, the stolen vehicle remains missing, and the case is still under investigation.

The Laudium CPF praised the commitment of law enforcement, support teams, and community members.
"We also appreciate the community's support and vigilance during this distressing time."
They also urged residents to remain vigilant and to continue cooperating with authorities to maintain safety in the area.
"We urge everyone to remain alert and continue working with law enforcement to ensure our community's safety. Let's look out for each other and report any suspicious activity."
