It's no surprise that Uber riders frequently leave items behind when travelling.

From rushed meetings to late-night parties, an Uber is probably one of the easiest places to accidentally leave something.

In its ninth annual Uber Lost & Found Index, the e-hailing service revealed the most common and most unique items that riders left behind.

Looking at the past year, Uber revealed that the top three most common items left behind were phones, keys, and wallets.

Interestingly, they were also able to identify the most forgetful day of the year (the day when the most items were left behind), which was October 26.

While it's easy to guess the most commonly forgotten items, Uber also revealed the 50 most unique and bizarre items left behind in the past 12 months.

  1. Open the Uber app and tap “Activity” on the bottom icon menu.
  2. Select the trip on which you lost the item.
  3. Scroll down to “Find lost item” in the Help section, then tap “Contact driver about a lost item.”
  4. Select the item you lost from the options listed and note where it might be in the vehicle.
  5. Enter your phone number to call the driver.
  6. If your driver answers and confirms that your item has been found, coordinate a mutually convenient time and place to meet for its return.
