Unbelievable moment leopard escapes through electric fence
Animals are so much smarter than we realise…
If you've ever doubted the intelligence of animals, a recent video clip showing a leopard slipping through an electric fence will prove just how smart they really are.
The video footage, reportedly captured by wildlife photographer Villiers Steyn, shows a leopard in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate walking up to an electric fence.
Without hesitation, the large cat starts moving rocks that had been placed under the fence as an obstacle to prevent animals from escaping.

One by one, the leopard manages to remove the rocks from beneath the fence, leaving just enough space for him to slip through.
The footage ends with the male cat walking past the camera and away from the fence.
The remarkable video of the leopard outsmarting the barriers shocked online users and proved just how adaptable these animals really are.

According to Steyn, the leopard named, Mafu often roams across the estate's 600 hectares, as well as the neighbouring property, using holes in the fence to move between the two locations.
"Every now and again, these holes get filled up by estate security," Steyn said.
"But this video shows you that nothing will keep a leopard in or out."
