WATCH: Courier driver filmed drifting in local park
Concerns grew after a courier driver was filmed drifting in a local park.
Drifting might offer entertainment for some people, but like most things, there is a time and place for everything.
However, a courier driver in Polokwane decided to show off their drifting skills in a local park.
Video footage of a white courier van drifting through a municipal park on the evening of Thursday, 10 July, raised concerns with residents of Rhebok Avenue in Fauna Park, Polokwane.

The video shows the driver revving the van and skidding in circles, creating clouds of dust in the air.
According to the Polokwane Review-Observer, a resident heard the commotion at around 6:30 pm and decided to investigate.
The resident requested to remain anonymous.
"It was dark, and we heard this commotion. We found the van drifting around the park while people were sitting nearby. We were concerned, as there are children, pets, and pedestrians who frequent the park," she said.
After the noise continued, the group she was with managed to film the reckless driving.
"The grass is dry and dusty. The driver clearly didn't have control. It's a courier van, not a racing car. What if he lost control and hit those people?" she added.

They said that the driver eventually left the park but continued speeding up and down the street "like a maniac" before leaving the area.
"I've never seen anything like that. There are places for this kind of behaviour, but not in a public park. It's a delivery vehicle; it's not built for this."
