Always think twice before asking someone to marry you in public…

Thousands of runners took part in the 98th Comrades Marathon from Pietermaritzburg to Durban on Sunday, 8 June.
The marathon dominated headlines throughout Monday, from a missing runner being found to South Africa celebrating its victory at the event.

Another moment that sent social media into a frenzy was a proposal gone wrong, captured during a live broadcast of the event.
TikTok user Neo Fantastic posted a clip of the moment on her TikTok account, and the video quickly gained a lot of traction.
The 50-second clip shows the moment a man went down on one knee, seemingly after running the marathon, to propose to his partner.
Attention quickly turned to the couple, with the camera and presenter trying to focus on what they hoped would be a special moment.

Unfortunately, things turned awkward very quickly, as the woman was visibly uncomfortable.
She even went as far as to pull the man, seemingly in an attempt to escape the cameras.
When the presenter finally asked, "Is it a yes?" the woman simply pushed the microphone away and walked off.
