Chaos erupted onboard a Delta flight when two pigeons began flying around the cabin.
Video footage of the incident, which reportedly occurred on Saturday, May 24, was shared on social media and quickly went viral due to the sheer absurdity of the situation.
A passenger on the flight, Tom Caw, shared a video on Instagram, saying that he overheard another passenger tell a flight attendant there was a pigeon on the plane.

The clip showed another passenger attempting to catch one of the pigeons with his jacket, while other passengers can be heard screaming.

Initially, it was thought that there was only one pigeon on the plane.
"The pilot got on the mic and confirmed a pigeon was on the plane, and said he had no experience with this situation," wrote Caw.
Eventually, baggage handlers boarded the plane and managed to remove the pigeon.
It was only after the plane began taxiing toward the runway that another pigeon appeared.

Caw managed to film the second pigeon, which is the video he shared on Instagram.
The plane then returned to the gate, where another baggage handler boarded the plane and managed to safely remove the second pigeon.
"[The] pilot said when he radioed the control tower about us coming back due to a pigeon, the guy said that was a first for him. [The] pilot told him it was the second time for him—the first being half an hour earlier."
According to NBC News, Delta issued an apology for the incident that occurred onboard the plane, which was headed to Madison, Wisconsin, from the Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport.
