But are you ready to say goodbye and step into this refresh?
While 'Spring Cleaning' can often create the same energy as 'New Year, New Me', it's important to remember that you don't have to change every aspect of your life.
You might not even have to change anything!

This should simply serve as a reminder to check in with yourself as we approach the end of the year.
Sure, you can do some housekeeping or form new habits, but there shouldn't be any pressure from yourself or anyone else.
A few reasons why a good reset might help you feel less stuck:
- Helps with goal achievement
- Improves mood
- Can improve physical health
- Increases motivation
- Lowers stress levels
- Adds excitement to daily life
- Boosts creativity
- Let's you try new things
- Create new healthy routines and habits

If you are looking to reevaluate or make some changes, here are 10 tips or ideas to consider:
1. Reconnect with others
Hibernation is over, and it's time to get back out there.
It's easy to choose being comfy and cosy at home during winter instead of hanging out, but now is the time to make plans with friends and family.
Spend as much quality time as you can with loved ones. It can be as simple as calling a family member you haven't spoken to or meeting up with a friend for a coffee.

2. Spring clean
Yes, it might be cliché, boring advice, but decluttering your space can help declutter your mind.
Even if you organise and clean your bedroom, it's a start.
You will already have a safe, comfortable space to completely unwind without stressing about the clothes on the chair or the chaotic bedside table.

3. Practice mindfulness
Again, baby steps are key. There is no need to go on a full yoga retreat and become the most zen person.
Mindfulness and spring are a match made in heaven. Mindfulness is super effective self-care as it helps you reflect, clear your mind and be more present.
You can paint, journal, meditate, or do any other activity that requires your mind to focus on only one thing.

4. Avoid trendy cleanses
You should always think twice before diving into a popular or heavily advertised clease.
Registered dietitian Angie Asche says many "do more harm than good" as cleanses can dehydrate and cause adverse side effects.
5. Less alcohol, more water
October is right after September, so why not consider challenging yourself by participating in Sober October?
Most fluids count towards your water intake, but alcohol does not.
In large amounts, alcohol can overwhelm the gut, promoting intestinal inflammation and increasing harmful bacteria … (which) can lead to a wide range of health problems.- Angie Asche (Registered dietitian)

6. Unplug!
You might not notice how much time you spend on your phone, but now and then you find yourself in a seemingly endless doom-scrolling loop.
As much as it is an incredible tool, it can also be a bunch of trash that provides a quick, temporary dopamine hit.
Taking a break from social media is always a good idea, even if you start by limiting your screen time per day. You'll find that your life will be filled with less negativity and more time.

7. Find a hobby
Kids aren't the only ones who should be having fun. As adults, we often feel like life is always serious, but we just have to make time for fun.
Hobbies don't have to be expensive or take hours. You can read for 30 minutes before bed, or learn a language on an app.
Whatever tickles your fancy, make time to do something you enjoy.
If you have become bored with your current hobby, try exploring it in a different way. For example, if you've been colouring in pictures, why not move on to painting your own?

8. Update your wardrobe
Sometimes, a change is as good as a holiday. Now that a new season is here, you can look through your closet and see what still serves you and doesn't.
Remove any clothes that you know you aren't getting any wear out of, and consider donating them to a charity or thrift store.
If your style feels stale and needs a little refresh, buy that item you've been eyeing. Treat yourself!

9. Get moving!
Very few people want to brave the cold winter weather to exercise. Why would you, if you could stay in your warm bed?
There is also no need to try to run a marathon the minute spring comes around. If you want to create a healthy exercise habit, start with something basic to make you feel good and confident.
You don't want to lose motivation or psyche yourself out before starting.

10. Health checkup
What better way to start a new season than with your mind at ease and your body at optimal health?
Book a checkup to make sure everything is working as it should. Better safe than sorry.
