SA content creator explains why Hawks raided his house

Anton Taylor sat down with The Drive with Rob and Roz to discuss the events of the Hawks raid on his home.

In August, beloved social media star Anton Taylor shared a video on his various social media platforms explaining he had been a part of a very serious incident.

Although the video had only been posted now, the incident in question happened two months ago, and he was only now able to speak about it.

According to Taylor, he had been the target of a Hawks raid.

Officially known as the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), their mandate is to "prevent, combat and investigate national priority offences in particular: Serious Organised Crime; Serious Commercial Crime; and  Serious Corruption."

In the video, Taylor states that the affidavit provided by the organisation pertains to crimes against the State.

He also adds that the entire incident occurred due to a satirical video he had posted on his social media in March 2025.

The original video has over 23,000 views on TikTok.

Anton Taylor speaks out:

The story has made headlines, and IOL reports that "The Hawks’ Brigadier Thandi Mbambo said an investigation was launched after charges were filed."

Many of Taylor's fans and fellow South Africans have expressed outrage with the situation, some even thinking it was a joke at first.
