South Africans concerned about Miss SA organisation

What is happening at the Miss South Africa organisation?

The Miss South Africa pageant competition is a national institution.

However, in the last few years, it has been surrounded by rumours and speculation.

South Africans have sensed that there might be trouble brewing within the organisation.

Earlier this year, creative director Werner Wessels left the organisation.

This is not the only Miss SA story to have caused a stir amongst fan pages and pageant critics.

Even though entries for the competition closed in April, there has been no sign of any top 30 announcements after the organisation shared that significant rule changes had occurred this year.

The shortlist is usually revealed in May, starting the countdown to the final.

There has also been much criticism surrounding the current Miss SA, Mia le Roux, after she exited the Miss Universe final last year due to health reasons.

In May, the pageant organisers also announced that they had not renewed their licence to participate in the Miss Supranational pageant either.

This announcement has also led to speculation that the organisation will not renew its licence for the Miss Universe pageant, as it did with Miss Supranational and Miss World.

According to The South African, CEO Stephanie Weil said, "The new Miss SA will be chosen. Planning is well underway for the 67th competition. All details will be announced in the near future."
