South Africa is known to have its issues.

Unfortunately, scams have become a significant issue worldwide, and perpetrators are becoming more cunning and convincing every day.

One thing we all know is that South African scams do hit different. 

One local content creator recently shared his experience with scammers.

Most people might choose not to tell others how they've been scammed, but Isaac Mehlape shared his story on social media.

Mehlape starts the video by saying that South Africans eventually reach a point where they almost have to congratulate scammers when they pull off a successful con.

The comedian then tells the very real story of how he was swindled out of a few hundred Rand.

It all started when he needed to fix his washing machine and found a company on Facebook Marketplace that he contacted for assistance.

After a promising start, it all seemed to go downhill pretty quickly.

Now the only thing Isaac has to show for his troubles is a broken washing machine.

Hopefully, this will serve as a cautionary tale for other South Africans.

Sometimes we learn the lesson the hard way.
