This is one of the most relatable videos for so many South Africans.

An unemployed South African shared an absolutely heartbreaking video.
The video has been shared across social media for the pure pain and hurt in his voice.
After numerous job applications, interviews, and subsequent rejection, @King_Soul1st poured his heart out.
After only three days, the video has garnered almost one million views on TikTok.
I have officially given up… I am not praying anymore…I am not fasting anymore.... I am just throwing in the towel.- King Soul
Why does this hit home so hard?
Because so many South Africans are facing the exact same feeling of despondency and frustration.
Even through our tough times as a nation, the beauty lies in the fact that so many people have shown him love, support, and comfort.
Here are some of the comments (sic):
- SammyG: "The reason why you feel like that my brother you are too close to your breakthrough please don't give up. love and light."
- Lucius Lerato Niselo: "This was me 2 months ago and I accepted where life placed me, out of nowhere I received a call from a placed I applied at last year....on Monday I'm starting at my new job and I'm so emotional I can't seem to wrap up my new reality, I meet benn 2 years 6 months of unemployed 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺"

Here's a series of videos by Jenn Nxumalo to help you in your search of employment:
It's moments like these that we need to show compassion, love, and support for each other.
For those of us who are fortunate to have a job - gratitude!
In June, Deputy President Paul Mashatile said the government is aware that the majority of young South Africans are not living the future they had hoped for.
Mashatile said the youth are confronted by high levels of unemployment, inequality, and a lack of access to opportunities, especially in the digital world.
According to the latest figures from Statistics South Africa, unemployment has reached a staggering 60% among young people aged 15 to 24.
"As government, we acknowledge that, for these young people, their reality remains untenable, undesirable, and unsustainable,” said Mashatile.
The deputy president raised concerns over young people who are neither in school, working, nor undergoing any training.
He labelled the current unemployment crisis as a ‘moral emergency’ rather than an economic issue.
If you're seeking employment, we wish you the very best of luck.
It's easier said, but don't give up.
