Have cosmetic procedures gone too far?

In 2018, the matriarch of the KarJenner family, Kris Jenner, underwent earlobe reduction surgery.

Jenner, who wanted her earlobes to be "less saggy" and just wanted "cute ears", even shared her surgery journey on an episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'.
There is always a lot of discourse surrounding plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures.

Some people feel that those who have these procedures done are dishonest about it, creating a world filled with unrealistic beauty goals.
Others argue that you should feel free to alter your body however you want, especially if it makes you feel more comfortable in your skin.

No matter which side of the debate you support, some interesting procedures are being developed every year.
It's no longer only about nose jobs and boob jobs.
Some cosmetic procedures are more culturally specific and will become trendy in certain parts of the world.
In Western culture, children born with protruding ears generally have a hard time dealing with their ear deformity, mainly because of bullying.
It's not uncommon for these kids to receive "corrective" medical treatment for this condition.

For Korean beauty standards, a slight outward tilt of the ear enhances facial angles for a more youthful and cute appearance, and because of this, a new trend has been making waves on social media and in clinics across Asia.
People have begun injecting dermal fillers into the top part of the ear, the antihelix or behind the ear, making them stick out slightly.
The procedure is not widely regulated in many other countries yet, but it has spread to neighbouring countries and the West.

Medical professionals, however, caution those considering similar procedures involving filler injections in cartilage-heavy areas like ears, as these procedures pose greater risks if not performed with precision.
Bruising, lumps and tissue damage can occur.
