'The Office' producers Greg Daniels and Michael Koman have created the series 'The Paper, ' which takes place in the same universe as Dunder Mifflin, the company that is the focus of 'The Office'.
The series will follow a failing newspaper, 'The Truth Teller', in Toledo, Ohio.
The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.- Peacock

The cast has been confirmed and features Sabrina Impacciatore ('The White Lotus' season two) and Domhnall Gleeson ('Star Wars').
Gleeson is set to play the publisher of the paper:
My character has the unwavering optimistic belief that he can turnThe Truth Tellerto the glory of its heyday. And, if you’re wondering, I will not be using this Irish accent.- Domhnall Gleeson
While it is unclear whether any 'The Office' alum will appear in the new series, the return of one character has been confirmed.

Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez after telling Daniels that he thinks Oscar would only return if he lived in a more cosmopolitan city.
Daniels explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the story of the struggling Midwestern newspaper will follow Gleeson's journey to restoring it to its former glory.
He just doesn’t have the budget for hiring reporters, and he has to use all the staff that work there on a volunteer basis to be reporters. They’re completely untrained and don’t know what they’re doing. It’s a fruitful premise. There’s a tremendous history for local papers. The villain here is the internet and the ability to look at everybody’s news for free, and all the ad revenue going to Google.- Greg Daniels
The series is set to start streaming on Peacock in September 2025.
