On Sunday, 13 July, tennis fans saw another Wimbledon tournament come to a close as Jannik Sinner and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz left everything on Centre Court.

Sinner recently lost out on the Roland Garros (French Open) title and was ready for revenge.

He reached his dream of winning his first Wimbledon title, beating Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and bringing his total Grand Slam wins to four.

The world number one is also the first Italian to win the title.

According to Jacaranda FM News, Sinner stayed ice cool after losing the first set, with the momentum quickly shifting, and wrapped up victory in a shade over three hours.

He had squandered three championship points in the final at Roland Garros five weeks ago, but this time made no mistake as he served out for victory.

In his post-win speech, Sinner also thanked his opponent:

But winning the coveted Wimbledon title wasn't the only big moment of the day.

After his win, Sinner was introduced to the Royal Family, the Prince and Princess of Wales William and Kate, as well as their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The two young royals were clear fans of the player as they asked him to sign tennisballs and shared a sweet moment with the newly crowned champion.
