As the winter cold starts to bite, we know that many South Africans will need some extra warmth this winter, especially the homeless, the impoverished, and animal shelters, to name a few.

There are also the elderly, the ill, and the frail. That’s why Martin Bester and his band have teamed up with our friends at The Round Table again this year, to spread love and warmth through this year’s Warm Fees.

Music concerts will be held in six towns and cities, and we only ask that you bring a blanket as the entry.

Good Morning Angels: Helping 15-year-old Lungile's dreams come true

Several organisations will benefit from the blankets and other donations collected along the way.

One of these organisations is the Tzaneen Cancer Care Group. Cancer patients need extra warmth and good nutrition when in treatment, and many of these patients do not have the means to afford this.

The Tzaneen Cancer Care Group was established some 30 years ago to provide comprehensive support, care, and assistance to individuals and families affected by cancer in the Greater Tzaneen community.

They currently have 34 cancer patients that are treated on an ‘out-patient’ basis.

Good Morning Angels: Helping a grandmother look after six grandchildren

At least six of these patients are state patients, who require further financial support in terms of medication, nutritional meals, as well as transport to and from various appointments.

This includes a 34-year-old mum of two, who was recently admitted to the Cancer Care Centre for palliative care. The devastating effects of COVID-19 saw the family's business close and medical aid cancelled.

ORIGINAL REQUEST:

Good day

Hope you all are doing well?

We are a Cancer Centre in Tzaneen we take care of Cancer patients in Limpopo. We provide support to patients and their families during the difficult path that they have during their journey.

Volunteers will visit Cancer patients at their home providing assistance going to the Dr or hospital visits and then, after treatment was received they provide assistance with the side effects.

We have a facility with 3 rooms giving Cancer patients the safe environment to spend their last days. We do not charge for the first seven days providing nursing staff and care during their last hours or days. Our facility also have 12 chairs where Cancer patients can get their treatment and get support during this process.

We are a group of volunteers supporting our community in need, we are completely relaying on donations and fundraising not receiving any assistance from the Government. We really need to raise funds as we currently have so many patients in need of medication, wound care, dietary supplements, stoma bags, linen savers and wet wipes.

Your help will be appreciated - after Covid our funds is running low.

Most of this patients only have their state pension depending on their families and some of the patients do not even have the support of their families they only have us to rely on.

At our Centre we currently have the following needs:

  • Shelves for our medical store room.
  • We need tiles for our Centre as the tiles are lifting.
  • We need a roof at the back of the kitchen were families can spend time, we removed the grass it was a thatch roof.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Wendy Stoop
