Humongous cobra in a Pretoria residence still not found
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
A video showing a huge snake found in Pretoria on Thursday morning has gone viral on social media. The snake is still at large and yet to be found.

The snake was found inside the toilet at an unknown flat in Lynwood, Pretoria East. According to the video, the snake was about three-meters long.
Snake handler Barry Greenshield told Rekord East that the snake may have come from Struben Dam and made its way into “the drain and through the sewage system of the flats.” Greenshield said it was a highly venomous snake.
“I do snake removals all over Pretoria East, but this is one of the more bizarre ones that I have come across,” he told the publication.
According to News24, the snake has not been caught, despite the best efforts of the snake handler. One of the occupants of the flat told the publication that it went back into the drainage system.
Greenshield has warned residents not to try catch the snake themselves.
“I'm telling people to keep the toilets closed. If the lid is closed it will be like a barrel and it won't come out but if it finds an opening it might come out and continue its journey into their houses,” he said.
