Don't be quick to discard your antiques - they could be worth a fortune!

A Rolex watch purchased in the early 70's turned out to be one of a kind, and the man who bought it is now rich.
The Air Force veteran who went on 'Antiques Roadshow' to have his 1971 Rolex Oyster Cosmograph valued collapsed in joy when he learned that the watch he paid $345 (R5,000) for in 1974 is now worth up to $700,000 (R10.2-million) at auction.

The video of his reaction is now going viral and we completely understand why.
According to Today, the unidentified man said he was stationed in Thailand from 1973-75 and thought a Rolex would be good for scuba diving. However, once he ordered it in 1974 and received it in 1975, he changed his mind. He then placed it in a safe deposit box in its original packaging, along with the receipt.
