The anarchy that has gripped several parts of South Africa has resulted in thousands of litres of milk being disregarded.

The riots and subsequent shutdown of services in KwaZulu-Natal have forced local farmers to pour hundreds of thousands of litres of milk down the drain.
The supply of food, fuel, and medication has come under the spotlight after looters and arsonists went on the rampage in the province this week.
Agricultural union, Kwanalu, says farmers have no choice but to dump some 28,000 litres of milk a day.

The union’s Sandy La Marque says it's clear that a humanitarian crisis is unfolding in KwaZulu-Natal.
